Four Color Process
The process of reproducing a full-color design from the original artwork by separating the multicolor design into its primary colors of yellow, cyan, magenta and black (also referred to as CMYK). This means an almost infinite number of colors can be printed using only 4 screens, making the set-up costs viable. The inks are required to blend and are more translucent, meaning a slight compromise with vibrancy of color.
